Indo Bistro Reviews

First time trying this spot out. I ordered the #19 on the menu. This dish was a flavor bomb wrapped in some banana leaves. I would definitely order this again. I just wished the beef rendang in this combo was a little more tender but the flavors in this is so delicious. It was so good that I almost ate it like in Indonesia and just use my hands instead of utensils.

I would return and be willing to try other menu items. Food: we got the Mie veggie, krokets, and nasi bungkus padang. The Mie veggie portion was small but had great flavor. We requested it spicy. The nasi bungkus Padang (#19) didn't wow me. However I'd still experiment and try other items. Ambiance: casual setting Large parking lot. Shared with multiple other restaurants.

There are less and less Indonesian food around and Indo Bistro is a good one. The chicken dishes are yummy The nasi bungkus (Padang) is awesome. Can't go wrong.

Came back to try these: # 19 Nasi bungkus padang - delicious # 37 Nasi ayam kremes - fried chicken w/crunchy bits. The chicken was moist inside, very tasty. The tamarind veggie soup compliments the dish very well. Love the sambal (chili paste)! # 14 Nasi goreng teri pete - very tasty with crunchy bits from the anchovy # 33 Bihun goreng veggie, nice noodle dish!

I finally decided to dine in at Indo Bistro and glad I tried it out. They absolutely offer a variety of Indonesian dishes and I wanted to try them all! For this visit we only tried the nasi bungkus padang. Nasi Bungkus Padang ( Padangnese-Style Banana Leaf Wrapped Rice ) $17.50 Padangnese-style banana leaf-wrapped steamed rice served with beef rendang, crispy beef, chicken curry, egg, and kale vegetable ; comes with green and red chili sauce. I enjoyed this dish very much. Our absolute fave was the crispy beef it gave it a nice crunchy texture with each bite. The rice had a hint of coconut flavor which I enjoyed. The green and red chili sauce were perfect for the dish. I will come back and try the other dishes. Service: fast, you walk in, place your order, pay and find a table. Ambiance: great, when we went the guests seemed to be all families per table

The food is delicious. Food is affordable. They sell Indonesia items. The place is small and clean. Self service.

Came in on a Wednesday at 11:55am. Not busy at all, no one else in the restaurant besides me. Vibe: small restaurant with 10 ish tables that can sit up to 4 ppl each. There's also a mini market inside which looks to have Indonesian snacks! Service: the workers were kind and attentive. They do speak little English as other yelpers have mentioned. I ordered my food to go but decided to eat in and they offered me a cup of water to go with my meal. Also since I was the only one here my order came out in exactly 10 minutes. Food: I went basic and ordered Nasi Goreng Spesial which came out to $14.99 after credit card and fees. A little on the pricey side but it's okay. The food was really tasty. I'll definitely be back to try their Indonesian rice dishes like the Nasi Kuming )

When we went, the owners and workers were busy fulfilling a catering order so perhaps they didn't notice us come in and awkwardly stand to the side. Other people were standing around as well, and it looked like they were waiting for their to-go orders. A bulk of the space is taken up by Asian products on shelves. So I guess this is a restaurant and a mini-grocery in one. We ordered the nasi bugkung padang and the nasi kuning. I preferred the latter as it was beef slathered in sauce on top of rice. So delicious. The bugkung panang was on the dry side and didn't have that much meat it in. It was flavorful though. They handed us glasses, utensils and our own water container. But the spout of the water container was a little bit dirty. I had to wipe it down myself. I'm sure this was an oversight. Perhaps because their clientele mostly orders canned drinks. All in all, this is a good place to eat at in a pinch. You have to be patient though, as they speak little English, so they won't be able to answer a lot of questions with detail, such as whether or not a dish is more sweet than savory, for example. They are kind and attentive, and they didn't rush us to order.

Tried to call in an order but their phone line was not working. Ordered numbers 19. Nasi Bungkus Padang, 32. Mie goreng Jawa, 42. Sate Kambing, and S1. Batagor. I'm not sure if they were busy with large orders or if everything takes a while to cook but it was a 35-40 minute wait after I ordered. Everything was good and came in big portions. Nasi Bungkus Padang Stewed beef and chicken with rice and came wrapped in a banana leaf. The chili sauce that came with it was spicy but delicious. I am not sure if you can buy/request more chili sauce because it would go well with everything else. Mie goreng Jawa Delicious stir fried eggs noodles. Comes with a side of hot sauce that packs some heat. Sate Kambing w/rice cakes Lamb satay that comes with some peanut sauce and chili sauce. Initially I wanted to try the chicken satay but got the lamb instead to try something different. I thought the meat was a bit tough and had some fatty parts that were hard to chew through. The flavor was good but I would try a different satay next time. I didn't know if it would be good with the rice cakes so I ordered it. Rice cakes reminded me of overcooked rice pressed together. The rice cakes wouldn't soak up any of the juices as expected so it tasted pretty bland. I would opt out of the rice cakes next time. Batagor Fried tofu with meat was different from what I expected. It's a soft tofu that has meat stuck to it and then fried. Some pieces were not together so some pieces are just meat or some meat with tofu. Overall it was delicious.

We requested meat only for the soto betawi because I don't eat tripe. The meat is a little bit hard to chew but they're very generous with the amount of beef in the soup. The mi goreng jawa is ok, slightly sweet but not as dry as we expect it to be. Service is very good, we were served cold water as soon as we're seated at the table. There's qr code menu on the wall next to the table. Huge parking lot outside but so hard to find an empty parking spot due to the location and it's a Saturday evening!
